I Got Lost at Harvard

Last summer was my first summer on a student summer job. I worked in the kitchens of several restaurants in Maine.

I didn't travel much after I finished work, since I didn't have time and had to go back to Bulgaria for my sister's wedding.

On the other hand, I had all kinds of adventures.

What happened to me?

Well, maybe the first thing that comes to mind right now is that we got lost at Harvard. We visited the university museum, and believe me, the place is unique. While we were walking around with my new friends, we realized that we could guess every student's major.

Do you know how? They had tattoos matching the subject they study – chemistry, chemical elements, physics, biology. It seemed very interesting and strange to us.

I'm a bit annoyed that we didn't find the library, though. It is just as impressive as the university itself.

In Boston we visited the Aquarium, which is perfect if you have time to kill – personal tip. There we saw a turtle almost as big as a car, chameleon frogs and many other interesting aquatic creatures.

At a place near Harvard University I had an English breakfast. The only difference I found from the original was that they had replaced the toast with a muffin. What do you think of that? I found it quite interesting.

Overall, we visited quite a few captivating restaurants.

I didn't change my whole wardrobe like some other students on summer jobs.

I bought 2 books from the Harvard bookstore, Corona socks, which you can see, a phone and… that's all I can think of right now :D and I worked constantly, but I'm happy.

Is the summer job worth it?

Well, yes, of course. You work and get to know not only Americans but at least 2 or 3 other nationalities, and you learn more English.

Now I have no problem with the language, and next year I'll be heading off on a new adventure.
