The Lorenzo de’ Medici Institute is one of the most renowned language schools in Italy. Groups are relatively small, with no more than 12 people, so that every student can take an active part in the tasks. Emphasis is placed on discussions and role plays, which help students build on what they have learned and expand their vocabulary. Learning a foreign language is directly linked to the culture of the country, so the courses include an introduction to Italian literature, music and cinema. Visits to local shopping streets and universities are also organized, where students have the opportunity to talk with local people.
The course is offered at 7 levels, each lasting 4 weeks. The big advantage of this type of course is that it is taught by two teachers for maximum results in a shorter period.
In Florence these courses run all year round. Lessons last 50 min. and are held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:40 p.m., Monday to Friday, with Fridays devoted to a specific area of Italian culture. Beginners can start on the first Monday of every month.
