
Professional Career Training (PCT)
What is “Professional Career Training”?
“Professional Career Training” is a program for student practice in the US. The participants in the program could find the company for training by themselves or ask NGB – Consulting to find the training placement. The requirement is the training to be in the field of their study or to have at least 2 years work experience in that sphere. The duration of the training can be from 1 to 18 months, and there is no limitation for the starting date. The program is whole year round. The participants can not work in a different company or change the training company without the notification of the sponsor organization.
As a participant in the program you have the chance to see American way of doing business, to meet American business-culture, leaving and working in the US. Nevertheless you are trained in a big or small company you will learn a lot about a different business life and will gain professional experience necessary and acknowledged all over the world.
Who can participate?
- Students completed at least 2 years of their study or;
- Graduated students or;
- Those who have at least 2 years of experience in the subject matter or related field;
- To be between 20 and 35 years old;
- To have good English language skills.
How you can participate?
Self-arranged Practical Career Training includes the following steps:
- Get information about the program;
- Start looking for company in which you would like to receive a training;
- Find such company;
- You give letter of intention from the American employer to NGB – Consulting;
- Apply with the necessary documents;
- Receive application form and instructions from NGB – Consulting;
- Give your complete documents in the office of NGB – Consulting and wait for the DS2019. At that time you have to pay the program fee, which depends on the duration of your training;
- Make air ticket reservation;
- Receive your DS form;
- Apply for J-1 visa in the American embassy;
- Buy your air ticket;
- Receive Good-bye package, which contains documents and instructions about your stay in the US. For example insurance, handout etc.;
- Fly to the States;
- Train trough the permitted period;
- Come back in Bulgaria, after your training is over. в България след приключване на позволения период за престой.
Arranged Practical Career Program includes the following steps:
- Get information about the program;
- Provide the necessary documents for participation (CV, Motivation letter, References, relevant diploma, etc.);
- Sign a contract with NGB – Consulting to find you a company for training, with relevant to your field of study or work experience;
- NGB – Consulting finds such company;
- Give your complete documents in the office of NGB – Consulting and wait for the DS2019. At that time you have to pay the program fee, which depends on the duration of your training;
- Make air ticket reservation;
- Receive your DS form;
- Apply for J-1 visa in the American embassy;
- Buy your air ticket;
- Receive Good-bye package, which contains documents and instructions about your stay in the US. For example insurance, handout etc.;
- Fly to the States;
- Train trough the permitted period;
- Come back in Bulgaria after your training is over.

In addition to the program fees, all participants must buy government mandated sickness and accident insurance. The cost of the insurance is $9.75 per week and must be paid with the program fee.

What is included in the program?
В посочените цени са включени:
- Training plan – a document made by the sponsor organization, which describes in details the program and the departments where the trainee will be trained;
- DS 2019 – a document that gives you the right to apply for a J-1 visa at the US Consulate. The document specifies the period, during which you will be allowed to legally work in the US;
- Orientation in Bulgaria – you will get useful advices and information, related to your stay in the US, as well as help with filling out the J-1 visa documents;
- Help and support through the whole stay in the States.
The price does not include:
- Medical insurance;
- US Consulate fee for J-1 visa application and SEVIS fee;
- Airplane ticket.
